Iconic former Alexander’s mural will be relocated, displayed in Paterson’s Art Factory

The unveiling of the panels will happen Friday July 13th during Art Walk in the historic Paterson, NJ at the Art Factory. Dave Garcia who created ArtWalk on his families property told me that he is “very excited to share” this work after all these years and he has had people calling sharing their memories of the iconic.

ALEXANDER’S abstract expressionist mural by Stefan Knapp.

Looking forward to seeing it again myself after my grandparents, George and Ruth Farkas commissioned the artist, Stefan 55 years ago to make this 200 x 40 Mural after seeing his work at Heathrow airport in the 1950’s.

I am less concerned who owns the work now, but Happy that someone had the good sense to preserve it and that it will be seen, which is why Artists make ART.

  1. The Knapp mural is in the BMAS collection. The Post-War expressionism work in enamel and steel can be viewed at the museum’s 60 Spruce street space when it paricatipes in the 2018 Art Walk.

BMAS (Bergen Museum of Art and Science) a 501 3c was founded in 1956 and is proud to make panels available to the public in this setting.

The iconic Signature Panels can be exhibited at BergenPAC in the Sandy Bennett Gallery September 2018. Enjoy these works of art in a wonderful setting in Englewood, NJ.
